Aug 06 - Anne & Jeff - We've had a great time here at The Homestead, and a week far too short a time to see everything that North Devon has to offer. We'll certainly be back. Bramble Cottage was stylish and comfortable, in a beautiful location and (what a bonus!) stacked with books: I didn't read any of those I'd brought with me.
Sept 06 - Judith & Glen - We were touched by the warm and friendly welcome. Even more delighted with this lovely and cosy cottage in such a beautiful setting. We must recommend, if you like walking, Valley of the Rocks, Heddons Mouth (Hunters Inn is a good place to stop for lunch) and Doone Valley. Very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Oct 06 - Sue - Four delightfully tranquil (and all too brief) nights of inspiring walks and recuperative comfort. Much needed and greatly appreciated. Than you.
Oct 06 - Martin, Maria, Bethany and Esme - Thank you for a really lovely week spent in this beautiful cottage. With family staying in the cottage next door. It really has been fun and a great week away. The cottages were exceptional. Beautifully clean and cosy. Thank you.
Jan 07 - Kate & Rhiannon - Super cottage (can I take it home with me?) especially appreciated because of the weather. There's northing for it - we'll have to come back. Many thanks.
June 07 - Graham, Barbara & Sam and Tiki - Location, Location, Location Fabulous cottage, in a fabulous area. Brochure did not do cottage justice, it far exceeded our expectations, views from the moor at the top of the lane were breathtaking. Walks around 'Hunters Inn' were picturesque.
Jun 07 - Dave, Anyta and Oscar - Return visit lived up to expectations, weather superb. Welcome great and even found some old friends. Thoroughly recommend the highest Inn on Exmoor - The Culbone Inn midway between Lynmouth and Porlock. Meat dishes fantastic. Thoroughly relaxed and de-stressed and looking forward to the next holiday already.
July 07 - David & Barnaby - Our second visit to his wonderful cottage - 'the best in Devon' can recommend the 'Nick Thorn' Surf School at Woolacombe. Excellent week despite the weather.
Sept 07 - John & Judy - Chris, A delightful week - Thank you.
Jan 08 - Gill & Alan - A very relaxing few days, lovely barn conversion and in such a beautiful spot. A lovely place to see in the New Year. Will definitely be back.
Jan 08 - Julie - I have had such a lovely time. Moments of solitude mixed with the company of very good friends. The cottage was delightful with all the comforts of home. The week was spent doing fabulous walks, eating tasty cheese on toast and cream teas plus mooching round the lovely shops in the area. An added bonus was the Christmas tree!
May 08 - Croydon - Our little home was great. The weather did what it always does... Today as we are packing... Blue sky - sunshine. Wonderful week. Thank you.
Nov 08 - Trevor, Bridget & Skye - 3rd visit since Aug 07 - need we say more!
Aug 06 Greg Sara & Evie - A wonderful cottage! You should be very proud of it. Such lovely peaceful surroundings - pure tranquillity. Great to have met you Chris. Stick with it, your adding to the world. Hope to come back one day.
Sept 06 Aileen, Ray, Sheila and Jacqueline - Thank you for the loan of your cottage. Warm well equipped, comfortable and very clean. Lovely holiday visiting all our old haunts. Would love to come again.
Oct 06 Michael Claire and Fleur - What can we say - outstanding accommodation, very comfortable and wonderfully peaceful 5 star all round - many thanks. We enjoyed the local scenery in particular 'The Valley of the Rocks' 'Woody Bay' the walks from the 'The Hunters Inn' and 'Tarr Steps'. Thank you both for providing such magnificent accommodation and look forward to a return visit in the not too distant future. Thanks again.
Christmas 2006 - Richmond, Surry - We've had a great Christmas here - would recommend the location and this cottage to anyone at any time of the year. Wish we'd brought the bikes and boards. Cheers.
March 07 Anne Pat Matt Abigail and Henry - What a beautiful week we've had in fabulous accommodation. Thank you for thinking of every detail we've been very comfortable. A thousand photos and happy memories to take home and keep us going until next time. Brendon and the valley was beautiful, the south end of Woolacombe Bay, the railway at Dunster, Dunster itself, the boat trip from Ilfracombe, the Valley of the Rocks, The Hunters Inn at Heddons Mouth to name a few.
December 07 - John & Bryony - Accommodation very good, very clean and very quiet. This was a break to 'get away from it all' and it worked perfectly. Sad to leave and hope to return. Best wishes for 2008.
May 08 France - A very dramatic landscape - great walk up to Watersmeet. Really enjoyed the careless roads and the quality of food, rivals our area of France. Would recommend to friends. Thanks Chris. Hey! Your dog is so cute. Thank you for a lovely stay the double bed is so comfortable. Many thanks.
May 08 - Sue & Ian Pat & Jim - Occupied both cottages with friends, an ideal location for our continuation of the South West Coastal Path. Well equipped cottages except for s shortage of green bins for our empties. Weather not good but didn't stop the walking. Sun came out on our days off. Off to find out if The Fox & Goose is all it has been made out to be. *Food absolutely superb!
June 08 - Steve Hannah Connor Jacob and Freya - Thank you for such a lovely home from home for our get away. (Not sure the baby understood the concept of holiday lie ins though). We have been fairly lucky with the weather but even on a rainy day the barn was the perfect escape. We hope to come and stay with you again very soon.
Sept. 08 Angela & David - We have thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hawthorn Cottage. It is very comfortable and so cheerful to return to after a day out enjoying the local countryside. We certainly made a good choice by coming here. Thank you very much.
Oct. 08 - Robert, Emma, Chloe & Patrick June & Dave - Wow! The cottage far exceeded expectations - so lovely, warm and comfortable to come back from being out in the cold wind and best self-catering we've been to - so clean with everything you could ever need. Home from home and better! In such a good position not too far from anywhere. So quiet and peaceful just right for a chill-out break. Nice to meet you Christine and we wish you all the very best with your future plans. Thanks for a great week. Will certainly recommend you.
Nov 08 - Colin Helen and Emily - What a truly excellent cottage in a really nice area, we have enjoyed both equally. Thank you for the wine; it was a lovely accompaniment to our first meal. We have been very lucky with the weather, the occasional sunshine bringing all the autumn colours out. We found lots of 'doggy' friendly Pubs and Cafés and lots of nice places to visit during our week here. Thank you for providing us with such good accommodation. Best Wishes.
